Yvonne Patton Art Studio

My studio is located in the beautiful and tranquil surrounds of the Abbotsford Convent (Melbourne Australia). In this historic building are the studios of many painters, artisans, writers and other associated arts. I have been painting there for some years and find it a stimulating and fun place to work.

I have been painting and exhibiting for almost thirty years now but the fascination of working with paint and design never wanes. I work in the studio most days, wallowing in my love of colour. Every painting I do starts out as a painting for myself. I paint what I like, how I like, regardless of fashion or current trend. Today it may be a still life, tomorrow a decorative nude or an abstract. I work mainly in oil paint. I love the glow and depth of colour that oils give.

Over the years many, many paintings have left home and travelled far and wide, to every state in Australia, to U.K. the U.S., Switzerland, Japan and New Zealand. They have, I'm sure, brightened up many a wall.
